Death
A couple of days ago, a family friend passed away (may Allah have mercy on him). We grew up in the same neighborhood, we were the same age, and I went to school with him from elementary all the way through high school. He was friends with my brothers, and my mom was friends with his mom, so our families were always connected in some way. From what I knew of him, he was a genuinely good person. He was always at the masjid, always volunteering, respectful to everyone, and carried himself with so much kindness. He really was a pillar of our community, someone who made an impact on so many lives just by the way he lived his own. When I heard about his passing, it hurt deeply even though we weren’t close, because it feels like a piece of our community is missing now. It’s moments like this that remind us how temporary this world really is. We spend so much time thinking we have tomorrow, but the truth is we don’t know when our last day will come. His passing is a reminder for me and for all of us to take our deen seriously, to treat others with kindness, and to live every day as if it could be our last. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, elevate his ranks in Jannah, and grant patience and strength to his family during this difficult time Ameen. Please keep our dear brother Yusuf in your duas if you see this, every prayer counts, and it’s the best gift we can give someone after they’ve returned to their Lord. I made this post so that people can make dua for him so if you see this please do so. May Allah bless you all.
